5.7.1 Green Team Annual Report to Resident Council – Overview

Each Activity Group that receives funds from the Resident Council is required to submit both a narrative Activity Group Annual Report and a financial report.  These are due at the end of the fiscal year (July 31) but there is a bit of leeway for completion with a final firm deadline of August 14/15.

5.7.2 Elements of the Annual Report

    5a. Current balance in your Activity Fund:  here, the Resident Council wants to know the balance of the group’s Activity Fund if they have one and the next question asks what are the plans for spending.
    5b. How will the funds be used in the 2026 – 2027 year?    
    5c. Report of the Green Team’s Resident Council Appropriations

  6. Membership: Number of members (or regular attendees)
    6a. How many of your members are NOT Panorama residents?

  7. Describe activities (programs, projects) since last year’s annual report.

    (1.) Educating Residents

    A. Lectures and films offered to entire resident population

    B. Field trips to sites of interest offered to entire resident population

    C. Tips for proper recycling and education about solid waste

    D. Green Team website, the Green Team group on Kya, and the Green Team Page in the Panorama News.  The Green Team updates and educates residents via all of these modes of communication. The website address is: https://panoramagreenteam.org/

    E. Panorama Tree Guide: Two GT volunteers continue to work on a new digital Panorama Tree and Shrub Guide which will eventually be available as a smartphone App. 

    F. Green Team brochure: The Steering Committee revised and updated our tri-fold Green Team brochure for the Activity Fair and we make it available at Green Team programs and functions. [Refer to section 5.4 for more about the brochures.]

C. Monitoring Recycling Centers: About a dozen GT volunteers “Recycling Buddies” regularly monitor the recycling centers; they remove inappropriate trash items that are not recyclable and they educate residents about proper recycling practices. [Refer to section 9.1 for more about recycling.]

D. Litter/Trash Pick-up along roads near Panorama

(3.) Supporting Sustainable Practices at Panorama

A. Co-management of recycling: GT leaders continue to collaborate with management on operating our two collection centers for recyclable items. GT volunteers continue to collect organic, compostable organic waste from two floors of the Quinault. [Refer to section 9.1 for more about recycling.]

B. Solar panels on campus buildings: GT Walking Tour leaders feature these in their Sustainability Walking Tours.

C. EV Charging Stations: GT Walking Tour leaders feature these also in their Sustainability Walking Tours.

D. Green Landscape Care: GT leaders meet occasionally with Grounds Manager Adam Hill to learn about Grounds activities and issues.  They continue to encourage:
– Leaving more leaves in garden beds to support invertebrate life and bird life year-round, but especially in winter months.
– Continuing to phase in more electric lawn-care equipment, to reduce our carbon footprint and to reduce the highly dangerous air and noise pollution emitted by the two-cycle engines in use.

5.7.3 Sample Annual Report. Here is the 2026 Annual Report as a Word document.  It can be modified with updated information for the year in question. The 2026 Annual Report in pdf format is an example of the document submitted to the Resident Council.
