Shared Responsibilities for Recycling at Panorama

On January 29, 2024, three Green Team members (Joe Palmiter, Cleve Pennix, and Steve Lundin) met with Matt Murry and Brent Hammer to discuss the need for Panorama to start managing the two Panorama recycling centers. During the very cordial meeting, Matt told us that Panorama would assume management of the recycling centers. Subsequent meetings were held.

Panorama has assumed the responsibility for managing recycling  activities and has decided to house the recycling responsibilities in the Grounds Department.

The Panorama Corporation and the Green Team will have shared recycling responsibilities. Panorama is responsible for keeping the two recycling centers clean and will be the sole contact with LeMay Pacific Disposal company. The Green Team will still provide education for residents about recycling responsibilities. The Corporation will assist with signage at the recycling centers and printed materials about recycling. Residents will still be responsible for properly sorting their recycled materials and depositing these materials at the two recycling centers.

Green Team volunteers will continue their periodic visits to the recycling centers and move improperly recycled materials to the proper bins. Safety is paramount. Residents and volunteers should not attempt to move something beyond their capacities. If help is needed, put in a work order for the task. If Panorama staff cannot quickly move these improperly deposited materials out of the large bin, they will elect to have LeMay handle it. When compost bins need to be replaced with clean bins, volunteers should put in a work order.
