In early November 2025, 18 adventurous Panorama residents and four experienced mushroom guides ventured into the Pacific Northwest forest seeking treasures. And we all found gold! Baskets of delicious golden Chanterelles!  Many other fascinating mushroom varieties were also found, and we were lucky our expert mycologist and guides were able to educate us and identify everything.

After our foray, we returned to the Panorama pavilion, where Rick Steckler (fabulous foray co-coordinator and son of Panorama resident Joyce Steckler) educated us in proper fungi cleaning, cooking and a delicious taste sampling.   

Fun, beauty and joy were experienced by all, and the Green Team hopes to make this an annual fall adventure!
