Drawdown SOLUTIONS

The Green Team meeting on September 14, 2022 featured environmental activists Jim Bronson and Sandi Goldie discussing Project Drawdown, whose mission is to help the world reach “drawdown” — the point in the future when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to decline steadily, thereby stopping catastrophic climate change, as quickly, safely, and equitably as possible. Project Drawdown has identified many solutions for combatting climate change. This color-coded pie chart shows the relative impact of these solutions, with red entries related to food and agriculture, pink related to family planning and educating girls, green related to forestry, gold related to alternative energy, and purple related to refrigeration. Although many of the solutions are out of our control, two of the solutions — reduced food waste and plant-rich diet (in red on the right of the chart) — are areas where we can make improvements, and thus help to combat the climate crisis.

In addition to these two solutions, there are other areas where we can make a difference. Panorama is a community of people who want to help others. Helping Mother Earth helps everyone!
