BENEFITS OF REUSABLE MUGS AND WATER BOTTLES

Mug & Cookie Day - Oct. 25, 2016
Mug & Cookie Day – Oct. 25, 2016
On October 25, 2016 the Green Team sponsored the first Mug & Cookie day. People who used their own mugs in Pan Hall on the first day of November activities signups were treated to a cookie or slices of apple. Many people participated, and we hope that the trend for people to bring their own mugs will continue.

To save resources, we’re encouraging everyone to avoid using paper coffee cups. We appreciate the fact that the paper cups provided by Panorama are made from renewable resources and can be composted at some locations. However, currently LeMay doesn’t include those cups in the list of compostables accepted here, so the cups wind up in the landfill.

We also encourage everyone to avoid single-use plastic water bottles by bringing reusable water bottles on trips and to the Fitness Center, or just using the water fountain at the Fitness Center. A few years ago the Green Team and other Panorama residents, requested a water fountain in the hall of the Fitness Center. We’re grateful that Management installed the water fountain, which includes a handy way to refill bottles.

We look forward to more opportunities to join you on campus to enjoy coffee, tea and hot chocolate in reusable mugs.
